Although no longer living in the city, I continued to head back to Manchester on occasion, mainly for the football, but I would try and get to gigs in whenever I could. Typically that would involve an hour or so train journey often getting back to Leeds in the early hours.
Having seen some success with my first attempt to smuggle the camera into the Apollo concert arena, I decided to give it another go. One particular issue with the Apollo is it was often down to the band as to how stringent security had to be on the door, and with Slade they had been fairly relaxed. I was unsure how it would work with the next visitors to Manchester, AC/DC. Yet again, though, I managed to get the camera in without any fuss. This was part of the "For Those about to Rock" tour.
